Health Department in Dire State

Bommai slammed the state’s health department and said that department is in the ICU and needs urgent medical intervention.

Essential medicines are not being supplied on time, and monthly indents are raised. Why aren’t critical medicines stocked? The state government’s financial mismanagement is becoming evident.

The government hospital charges have increased. In Ballari, maternal deaths have occurred, and no amount of compensation can bring solace. While in opposition, Congress leaders spoke extensively about such issues, but now, the Chief Minister has failed to act.

There has been no accountability, and not even the health department’s secretary has visited the site. Who are they trying to protect?.

Corruption is rampant, and the lives of ordinary people are being sacrificed for it. This is an unforgivable crime.

The MP said the government must appoint full-time doctors to the government hospitals.Appointing contract-based doctors results in their refusal to serve in government hospitals.

Livestock deaths are on the rise, and treatment is not being provided. The previous BJP government had released Rs.14 crore to vaccinate all livestock.

If the government were functioning effectively, these measures could have been taken. However, this government appears lifeless,he added.

Road and Railway Projects

The former CM said discussions had been held with officials regarding the repair of national highways and the construction of service roads.

Similarly, meetings were held with South Western Railway officials in Hubballi to address issues related to Byadgi railway station and the Shivamogga-Ranebennur line. solutions would be found soon.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Minister V. Somanna have been asked to ensure the Vande Bharat train halts at Haveri, adding that the proposal has already been sent to the railway board and a decision is expected shortly.

Rural Development Through MGNREGA

Highlighting the importance of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) scheme in rural development, the former CM said the scheme not only creates employment but also helps build assets.

Concrete roads are being constructed in rural areas, but drainage systems are inadequate and must be improved systematically. The state government should work towards implementing this effectively.

Crackdown on Illegal Layouts

The MP urged district officials to take immediate action against illegal layouts in Haveri.Officials must not succumb to political pressure.

Unauthorized layouts hinder development in authorized ones, and taking strict action is imperative.

Factions and Wakf Issues:

Asked about his alignment within BJP factions, Bommai said, he belongs to the BJP faction. The Wakf board order has caused significant problems for farmers, temples, lakes, hospitals, and schools. We must all fight strongly against this.We are actively working on this issue,”he added.
