The Sanjaynagar police arrested a a 30-year-old man for allegedly misbehaved and assaulted a woman tenant living at a building owned by his father, police said Sunday.
Senior officer told reporters,Manjunath Gowda, misbehaved with 26-year-old tenant living alone at the apartment RMV 2nd Stage.
The victim,a private firm employee alleged that the accused had confronted her on December 3,when she went to collect a parcel .
He started misbehaving and even hurled abuses at her in an inebriated state.While the victim started walking away the accused followed her and assaulted and even bit her fingers when she tried to resist the attack .
He slapped me and choked me to the extent where I could not breathe at all,while pinning me to the wall.While I tried blocking him,he also bit my finger leaving it injured.
He also tried pulling me into his house and that’s when I started screaming and I ran towards my flat,the victim alleged in her complaint.
He also followed me and stopped me midway in the staircase and started hitting me more aggressively.
Earlier that day,in the morning,he was also peeping into my window and asked me if he could come inside.But I ignored it and did not let him come inside my room.
He also has a history of making inappropriate advances towards me during several occasions in the past,”she added.
Meanwhile,Gowda’s father Kempegowda,the landlord, has claimed that there were complaints about the woman’s behaviour by the neighbours and that he would lodge a counter-complaint.
