Social activist family members files complaint against Shaheen Bagh police for harassment’ of activist Nadeem Khan by Delhi Police

Family members of Nadeem Khan,General Secretary of Association for Protection of Civil Rights,a human rights organization,has filed a complaint with the Sampigehalli police against Shaheen Bagh police, accusing of intimidating the family during the arrest procedure on Saturday.

Nadeem Khan and his organization working for the rights of the victims in Sambhal violence in UP, where six people were killed in police firing .

The APCR has filed a PIL before the Allahabad High court seeking detailed probe into the incident and suitable compensation to the victims .

The Shaheen Bagh police on Friday conducted raid on the APOCL office in Delhi and later came looking for Nadeem Khan who had come to the city on officials work and stayed in in his brother’s house .

The family members alleged that a team comprising of Shaheen Bagh,PS,SHO baged into the house and forced Nadeem Khan to accompany them to probe a case filed against him on the same day.

Nadeem tried to reason with them stating that he would return to Delhi and appear before them for questioning, but they insisted that Nadeem Khan should go with them.

The Family said that there was no due procedure followed nor the copy of FIR,arrest warrant and any documents handed over.They are rough and intimidating .

Even local police who had come later to the house were not aware of the arrest,the complainant stated.

The behavior of police is intimidating and they police team kept the house and the street under surveillance for many hours to intimidate Nadeem Khan and the family members.

The family requested the police that they fear of their safety and demanded action be taken against the police.
