Two Notorious Inter-state gun runners arrested by Hulimavu Police and recovered two country made pistols and 4 live cartridges
The Hulimavu police during a random vehicle check on NICE road caught two labourers from Bihar and recovered two countrymade pistols and four live cartridges which they were carrying in a bag on Wednesday.
The accused Vidya Sahani,35 and his elder brother Prem Sahani @Sethu,41,were riding two wheeler on NICE road near Koppa Begur road when the police on routine rounds intercepted them at around 8.30 pm.
The duo baffled when the police asked them about the vehicle documents to check.Suspecting something fishy, the police checked the bag and found two country made pistols with 9 mm calibre and four live ammunition.
Upon detailed inquiries it was revealed that Vidya Sahani is a habitual offender involved in two cases of arms smuggling and two cases of robbery in Bihar.
He had jumped bail and had come to take shelter with his brother Prem, who worked as plumber in the city and living for the past 15 years .
The accused according to the police used to source the weapons from his contacts in Bihar and looking for the prospective clients to sell the weapons in the city .
The duo have been booked under Arms Act and remanded to judicial custody .
