Cybercrooks booked for creating fake FB account of BBMP chief for 3rd time

T he Central cyber crime police on Friday registered an FIR against unknown person for creating fake FB account in the name of BBMP Chief Commissioner, Tushar Girinath.

Based on the complaint by Iranna Bhorawat,PRO,BBMP, the police charged the accused under section 66C (fraudulently or dishonestly make use of the electronic signature,password or any other unique identification feature of any other person)and 66D (cheating by impersonation )for further investigations.

The accused had used the photo,name and designation of Mr.Girinath to create the fake profile which according to the complaint is to cheat the BBMP officials,staff and members of general public.

This is the third time,Mr.Girinath has been targeted as two years ago unidentified person used the photograph of BBMP chief commissioner and sent whatsapp messages to officials asking them to buy gift coupons online.

Earlier in may this year,the accused misusing the Identity of Mr.Girinath sent good morning messages to BBMP officials and asking them about their location.The Cyber crime policer are probing these cases.
