he priests and trust members of famous Gali Anjaneya swamy temple which was embroiled in many controversy earlier have been booked for misusing the donation money.
Based on the complaint by Mohan PV,a devotee,the Byatarayanpura police on Monday charged trust members and priests of the temple under unlawful assembly,theft,misappropriation,cheating by personation and criminal intimidation.
Mohan in his complaint said that the priests and the trust members had even earlier caught stealing donation money and other valuables from the temple and misused it for personal gain.
The accused threatened and abused the devotees whenever the issue of misappropriation and stealing donation which was caught on cctv cameras was raised.
In order to prevent misuse a QR code was introduced to help devotees and doners to pay their offing online which was linked to the bank account opened in the name of temple.
However the accused misusing their official position linked the QR code to their account to get the donation money directly into their account,amounting to gross violation and misuse of power,incurring loss to the temple .
The complainant also said that he had documentary evidence to prove the charges and ready to share with the police.
