Bomb threats in malls:Police say ‘hoax call in Bengaluru

A mall in mahadevpura received an email warning of explosives was later confirmed as a hoax,police investigations have found.

The email was sent to the VR Bengaluru mall administration in Mahadevapura on Monday afternoon. The sender had claimed that there were explosives on the mall premises.

The administration informed the police,who launched an investigation and deployed teams,including a bomb squad.After a thorough check,the threat was declared a hoax.

Shivakumar Gunare,Deputy Commissioner of Police (Whitefield) said that a case was registered at the Mahadevapura police station and further probe was underway.
