Following a chain snatching case reported on July 14 this year,the Peenya police on tuesday busted a gang of four juveniles who has escaped from state home for boys in Devanahalli few days ago to commit the offence .
Concerned over juveniles getting into criminal activities, city police commissioner,B.Dayananda said that the parents of the juvenile have also been booked for failed in their responsibilities and directed the police to initiate legal action.
Based on the directions,the police have issued notice to the parents of the juveniles under section 75,(wilful neglect) of the JJ Act for further inquiry.
He further said the accused who are around 17 years of age are high school dropouts and the prime accused worked in the garage to learn about the vehicles.
The accused roped in three of his associates and stole bikes and autorickshaw to commit the robbery.The accused were caught by Byadarahalli police in a robbery case in June this year and remanded to state home for boys in Devanahalli.
The accused escaped from the facility after breaking open the backdoor and attacked a private firm employee who was returning home from work and robbed 30 grams of gold chain.
Based on the complaint,the Peenya police analyzed the CCTV footage and track down the accused near Gangondahalli main road where they were waited to commit the offence .
The police recovered autorickshaw and two bikes along with the 30 grams of gold chain total worth Rs.4 lakh from them.
The accused have been produced before the JJ board and remanded to state home for further procedure he added.
