Alert Railway cops on duty found an abandoned bag containing 2.6 kilos of Marijuana at stone bench of platform No-4

The Railway police as part of the stepped up patrolling in the wake of model code of conduct recovered a bag containing 2.6 kilograms of Marijuna abandoned at the stone bench of platform 4 on Tuesday.

Police Sub Inspector,Vasanth Kumar,on duty noticed the abandoned bag and checked the passengers of Prashathi express who arrived few minutes minutes ago and all the passengers were getting down,but no one claimed ownership of the bag.

The officials waited for sometime thinking that the owner might come to get the bag but in vain.

After inmforming the senior, Mr.Kumar checked the bag to find that drugs packed in the bag and tapped,The value of the drugs estimated to be around ₹ 2.6 lakh.

Mr. Kumar in his commplaint suspect that the accused smuggled the bag in train and noticing police presence abandoned the bag and escaped .

Based on the complaint the city railway police have registered a case under NDPS Act and investigation are on to track down the peddler .
