SIT task force to headed by four DCPs to probe AEPS,courier fraud,sextortion & online racket job scams cases says B Dayananda CoP

In an effort to contain growing cyber crime related to “ Aadhar enabled Payment system (AEPS)“,“Fedex courier frauds,sextortion and online job racket city police commissioner,B.Dayananda deputed four DCPs in the city to tackle them effectively.

The DCPs will be heading the Special Investigation teams (SIT) tasked to supervise specific cases assigned to them and for the speedy disposal and taking them to the logical conclusions.The idea is to give priority to specific types of cases assigned to them.

Bengaluru City Police Commissioner B Dayananda,told reporters a total number of 116 cases related to AEPS, 250 cases related to “fedex courier frauds”,115 cases related to sextortion and 4607 cases linked to online job frauds have been reported in the city for the last few days.

The growing number of cases needs special attention and a senior officer of the rank of DCP can supervise to take them in right direction and coordinate with the bank officials and officials of the central agencies for detections and recovery of the lost money.

As per the directions of the city police chief, investigations of all cases related to Aadhaar Enabled Payment System (AEPS)cases is being supervised by DCP North-East,Lakshmi Prasad,while fedex related cyber crime are being supervised by DCP Traffic East, Kuldeep Kumar R Jain.

Similarly cases related to Sextortion will be supervised by DCP Traffic North, Sachin Ghorpade and Online Job Fraud cases which are 4607 in number will be supervised by DCP Traffic South Shivaprakash Devaraju he added.
