.I am delighted to be addressing all of you present here today at the inaugural of Philips Innovation Campus.
2.Philips is one of the leading healthcare companies in India.Philips has been a key player in the Karnataka ecosystem for the last 27 years.
3.The Philips Innovation Campus here in Bengaluru is a digital powerhouse focused in building healthcare solutions that improves lives and well-being of people globally.
The Philips Innovation Campus located in Bengaluru plays a crucial role in driving Philips’digital transformation,not only within India but also on a global scale.
I understand that the new innovation campus in Bengaluru is 6,50,000 sq.ft.and can accommodate 5,000 professionals.
The Company is working in innovative health technologies aimed at improving patient experiences, achieving better health outcomes,improving staff experiences,and lowering the cost of care.
4.I am confident that this Innovation centre would add another feather in the cap of Bengaluru City,which is globally acclaimed tech-hub.
5. The Govt of Karnataka appreciates the visit of Prime Minister of Netherlands Mr.Mark Rutte to Bangalore couple of months ago.This shows his commitment towards Karnataka in building a robust technology ecosystem.
6.Karnataka has emerged as a hub for healthcare in India, boasting a robust ecosystem of research institutions,pharmaceutical companies,medical device manufacturers,and healthcare providers.
The state’s strong emphasis on research and innovation has fueled the growth of this sector, making it a significant contributor to the state’s economy.
Karnataka has a number of renowned medical education and research institutions – Indian Institute of Science (IISc), the National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS), and the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS), which produce a large number of qualified healthcare professionals.
Karnataka is home to several healthcare companies working on cutting-edge technologies that are working towards revolutionizing the global healthcare industry.
The startup ecosystem in Karnataka includes numerous healthcare and life sciences startups working on innovative solutions.
These startups focus on areas such as digital health, personalized medicine,and novel drug discovery.
7.The Government of Karnataka is taking rapid strides in improving the healthcare ecosystem with renewed technology initiatives,positioning itself as a model state in the health sector.
Some of our initiatives include the Bangalore Bio-innovation centre (BBC),Karnataka Biotechnology Policy, Bio-venture funds set up to support startups, Common Instrumental Facilities to support entrepreneurship, and others.
8.Karnataka is identified as a preferred destination for investments by leading Indian and global multinationals companies.
9.Rebuilding talent to suit the current growing trends, providing better infrastructure facilities,improving the ease of doing business and branding Karnataka as a global innovation hub are some of the priorities of our government.
10.When I speak about Ease of Doing Business – Karnataka achieved the ‘Top Achiever’ rank in ease of doing business (EoDB) across the country in 2022.
.Our Government is focused on building a conducive environment and pro-industry policies to attract investment, talent and opportunities in Karnataka.
•We want industries to see the State as the hub which has an”end-to-end ecosystem”for innovating and growing their businesses.
•Our pro-business policies reflect our dedication to simplify regulatory processes.
11.We have policies and initiatives to support and drive this agenda.Karnataka is the first state to come up with sector specific policies in Startup,IT,AVGC, Biotechnology and ESDM.
12.Before I conclude,I would like to extend an invitation to all of you present here today,for Bengaluru Tech Summit 2023.
