Group of people booked for staging protest to support Palestine on footpath in St Mark’s road in Bengaluru

The Cubbon park police have registered an FIR against a group of people for staging protest to support Palestine on the footpath of St. Marks road on Sunday.

Based on the complaint filed by Lakshmi,PSI,the Cubbon park police charged the protestors under section 149 (unlawful assembly) 188 (deliberate disobedience of an order that is duly promulgated by a public servant) 283 (Danger or obstruction in public way or line of navigation) 290 (public nuisance) against them.

At around 3 pm the protestors gathered on MG road and staged a silent walk with posters and placards in solidarity with Palestine.

They marched on st.marks road with the placards a symbolic representation of Palestine with the colours of its flag — bearing messages urging people to walk along or “free the watermelon.

in her complaint, Ms.Lakshmi, said that the protestors holding placards with a messages “From The River to The sea, END THE BLOCKED, # STOP THE GENOCIDE !!, STAND WITH PALESTINE, SAVE PALESTINE, SAVE PALESTINE STOP THE GENOCIDE !, OFF ALL THE FRUITS TO HAVE EVER EXISTED WATERMELON HAS BEEN THE BRAVEST, CEASEFIRE NOW!”.

Shouted slogans , disrupting the pedestrian movement on the footpaths.

They did not have any permission and its a violation of the HC court order, she said .

The police seized the placards and detained the protestors for further investigations.
