Maharani college campus accident: English professor’s overspeeding car injures three among two students

hree among Two girl students and several vehicles were damaged when a car belonging to an English professor,crashed into another car and vehicles at the parking lot of Maharani’s college campus on Saturday morning.

The injured Ashwini and Nandapriya,both 19 years and students of 1year Bcom were rushed to hospital for treatment.

The incident occurred when English Professor. Nagaraj was trying to park his automatic car.

He took the reverse and reportedly pressed the accelerator instead of breaks leading to an accident.

Prof. Nagaraj was also sustained minor injury in the accident and treated before taken into custody for questioning.

The incident took place at around 9:45 am.DCP Traffic North,Sachin Ghorpade visited the spot and took stock of the situation.

After inspecting the spot he said“The incident took place when the vehicle was taking a U-turn to park it.

The car hit another vehicle after the driver pressed the accelerator instead of breaking.Injured have been treated at the hospital,the DCP said.

Dr H Prakash blamed the lecturer for the accident and assured to provide all assistance to students and to bear their medical expenses.

The High grounds traffic police have taken up the case for further investigation.
