Medical Seat Scam busted by High grounds police,Four held for running fake educational consultation agency to cheat aspirants of professional courses in Bengaluru

he High grounds police on Friday arrested a gang of four persons who are running a educational consultation agency on Cunningham road to cheat aspirants of professional courses.

The accused have been identified as Nikhil,from Uttarakhand and his associates,as,Ashotosh,Basanth Kumar and Ashish from Bihar.

The scam was busted by the police following a complaint from a Mysuru based businessman promising medical seat for his daughter and taken Rs. 10.8 lakh .

The accused are PU drop outs and works for the prime accused who is presently on the run.

The accused had not only set up a consultation service but also hired 10 to 12 people as tele caller for the job to call the candidates who are unsuccessful in getting the Medical and MBBS seats through NEET .

The police are investigating how the accused have had sourced the list of candidates who appeared for the competative exams.

The tele callers would given a task of calling and texting the candidates offering them seats.Once the victim respond the accused would approach them offering seats for a price and arrange meeting.

One of the accused would even pose as secretary of the college and meet the victims assuring payment seat and extort money.

The accused were operating for the last six months and said to have cheated many people.

There are at least four such cases reported in Cubbon park and Vivek Nagar,while investigations are on to ascertain the criminal background of the accused,

Finally Bengaluru police commissioner,B Dayananda,has appreciated Addl CP West,Satheesh Kumar,DCP Central,Shekhar,PI,Bharath and his whole team who cracked the case.

The police have sealed the office and seized cash, documents and bank accounts of the accused for further investigations.
