Former chief minister Basavaraj Bommai condoled the demise of a renowned agricultural expert Dr. M.S. Swaminathan in Chennai on Thursday.
In a condolence message,the former CM said Dr. Swaminathan had been the greatest agricultural scientist India has ever seen.
His contribution to the agriculture sector,which is the main backbone of the Indian economy, is immense.
The passing away was an irreparable loss to the agriculture sector of India.
Bommai said that comprehensive implementation of the recommendations given by him for the agricultural reform of this country is the highest honor that can be paid to him.
