FIR registered in Sheshadripuram Police station, Bengaluru against News Presenter Sudhir Choudhary and Aaj Tak for ‘misinformation’ on govt scheme

T he Sheshadripuram police on Tuesday registered an FIR against Aajtak TV anchor Sudhir Choudhary for allegedly spreading misinformation on the state government subsidy scheme for minority communities to create communal disharmony.

Based on the complaint by Shivakumar S,officer with State minority Development Corporation,the police booked Sudhir Choudhary and his channel and organizer, charging them under section 505 (making or circulating false statements,rumors,or information with specific intent) and section 153A (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion,race, place ) for further investigations.

In his complaint Mr.Shivakumar said that the Choudhary in his report claimed that the Karnataka government was providing the scheme only to the minorities and not to the non-minority Hindus and that it is practicing minority appeasement in the state.

His statement will not only spreading misinformation but also disturb communal harmony,he said in his complaint .
