LPG Gas cylinder blast in hotel one killed two injured

A 48-year-old man was killed and two others injured in an explosion caused due to LPG gas cylinder leakage at the ground floor of the hotel in CL layout in Adugodi on Thursday morning.

Due to the impact the shutter of the hotel ripped and the man said to be destitute and sleeping on the footpath outside the hotel killed on the spot.

Two hotel staff also sustained burn injuries and admitted to st.John’s hospital.

Police along with fire and emergency service personnel rushed to the spot and put out the fire .

Probe revealed that hosepipe of one the cylinders stored at the ground floor leaked caused an explosion..

The police have registered a case of death due to negligence against the owner of the hotel Polamma mess for further investigation.

Another officer said,The fire which cause explosion resulted in the death of a destitute and injuring two hotel staff at the ground floor of Polamma hotel at CL Layout suspected to have caused due to fire from the kitchen in the first floor.

The deceased has been identified as Ravi, 48 who was sleeping on the pavement outside the hotel while the injured hotel staff Nagaraj and Ramaiah,were being treated at St. John’s hospital .

It is suspect that the leakage from the hosepipe led to the explosion.Luckily there were around 6 to 7 cylinders stored which were intact .

The FSL officials have collected the samples from the explosion site and analyzing the exact cause of the incident.
