President of Indian confers ‘Bhoomi Samman’ to 11 districts of West Bengal

Abhijit Ray, Kolkata: Bengal once again won the title of best in the country. The Bengal BJP has burnt its face. West Bengal has been ranked as one of the best in the country in terms of the use of digital technology in land use and renovation. President Draupadi Murmu on Tuesday conferred ‘Bhoomi Samman’ to 11 districts of the state in recognition of their achievements. Earlier, the ‘Duare Sarkar’ project received a platinum award from the President.The Centre’s electronics and IT department has also awarded Bengal platinum in the ‘Public Platform’ category of the ‘Digital India’ award.According to administrative sources, the award-winning districts were honoured for their significant achievements in digitising various land-related works such as land registration, land tax maps, land records, etc. A total of 75 districts across the country have been given this honor.Of these, 11 are from Bengal. With 100 per cent digitisation of land-related data, these districts have been included in the list of ‘platinum districts’. The list includes Bankura, Howrah, Murshidabad, Nadia, Hooghly, North 24 Parganas, South 24 Parganas, East Midnapore, West Midnapore, Jhargram and Purulia. The digitisation of nearly 100 per cent of the land data in these districts has been completed.
