Ragpicker bludgeoned his friend to death over money share row arrested by Malleshwaram police

The Malleshwaram police have arrested a 39-year-old Ragpicker for bludgeoning his friend to death over a row over share of money on Saturday.

The accused has been identified as Prabhu Kumar and deceased Gurumurthy,36.

Senior officer told reporters both the accused and deceased are rag pickers and used to stay on footpath.

The duo was alcoholic and also used to steal things and sell it to the junk shop to earn quick money for their alcohol.

The accused had sold some stolen material and sold it to the junk shop .

Soon the duo had a heated argument over the share of money and in the melee Prabhu attacked Gurumurthy with a tree branch lying around.

Gurumurthy sustained severe head injury and succumbed following which Prabhu Kumar escaped.

Passers-by noticed the body lying on roadside and informed the police.The police rushed to the spot and analyzed the CCTV footage and arrested the accused .
