Abhijit Ray, Kolkata:As many as 26 people were killed in Maharashtra’s Buldhana district when a bus travelling Nagpur to Pune caught fire after an accident on the SamruddhiMahamarg Expressway.Twenty-six people were burnt alive when a bus returning home caught fire in the middle of the night. The incident took place on samruddhiMahamarg Expressway in Buldhana area. According to reports, 33 passengers were travelling from Yavatmal to Pune in the cursed bus. The bus caught fire around 2 am. It is believed that everyone was sleeping as it was late at night. So he couldn’t come out in time. Some of the burning buses escaped by breaking the window. Initially, it is believed that the fire was caused by an explosion in the tyre.Firefighters rushed to the spot. But by then it was too late. Six to seven seriously injured people are undergoing treatment at Buldhana Hospital. Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde expressed grief over the incident. He announced an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh to the next of kin of the deceased. The state government will also bear the medical expenses of the injured. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also expressed grief over the incident. The PMO has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh for the next of kin of the deceased.
