Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, one of the most senior politicians in national politics, attended a meeting of opposition leaders in Patna on Friday. Aap supremo Arvind Kejriwal attended the meeting on Nitish’s call even as political relations with the Congress were strained. However, after the four-hour meeting, Kejriwal and DMK leader Stalin walked out.Nitish Kumar spoke at the beginning of the press conference. First, he talked about the unity of the opposition alliance. “We had a very good discussion,” he said. We have all come to agree that we will fight together in the 24th election. The anti-BJP forces are getting stronger. The present central government is adopting all anti-people policies, which are neither desirable nor acceptable. We are trying to change history. “We will meet again next month,” he said. An opposition meeting is likely to be held in Shimla on July 10 or 12.After Nitish Kumar, Congress’ Rahul Gandhi was given the lead to speak. Rahul, however, maintained courtesy and requested party president Mallikarjun Kharge to speak first. Then, in his speech, he called for a fight against the “dictatorship” of the BJP government. He said that minor differences between themselves should be put aside for the time being and the opposition unity should be strengthened. The same tone was heard in the voice of TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee.”We are not just the opposition; we are a part of the country. If there is a problem in Manipur, we also worry. What the BJP is doing is not right for the country. This needs to change. Laluji came to the meeting after a long time, it feels very good. Mufti, Omar is all here. We will all fight as one. ”
