President of Karnataka Women Writters Association & City Based Dr.Vasundhara Bhupati gets threat letter unknown person booked

President of Karnataka Women Writers‘ Association and city based Dr. Vasundhara Bhupati gets threat letter again at her residence on Monday.

Based on the complaint,the Basaveshwaranagar police filed an FIR against unknown person charging him under section 507,(Criminal intimidation by an anonymous communication.) against him.

Explaining the content of letter in her complaint,Dr. Vasundhara said that the accused had threatened her not to associate herself with 61 writers and literates including SG Siddaramaiah,Devanooru Mahadeva and Baraguru Ramachandrappa.

The letter also warned that the “lights of these literates will be put off “ .

The letter also mentioned the names of other writers and activities and flayed and defamed them.The letter did not have any names but signed at the end as Jai HIndu Raastra and Sahishnu Hindu.

This is not the first time,even earlier she had received three such letters and even other literates and writers get similar threat letters,she said in her complaint, requesting for a legal action.

Initial probe revealed that the letter has Ranebennur post office seal and police are trying to get more information on the person who posted the letter.

In June last year,a person under the pseudo name tolarent Hindu wrote 21 threat letters to over seven writers , activists and politicians since March 2022 .

The then Home Minister,Araga Jnanendra appointed K. Santosh Babu,the then SP,Ramanagara,as nodal officer for the cases registered across the State in June.
