I have relationships with three generations of the Katti family:Umesh Katti had a concern for farmers, says CM Bommai

Dr.Thomas (Special Correspondent)

Umesh Katti is not with them but he is blessing Nikhil Katti and Ramesh Katti from heaven. People must also bless the duo, said Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.

Speaking after holding a roadshow for the Hukkeri BJP candidate Nikhil Katti here on Wednesday,he said Umesh Katti had an unbroken winning streak.

He entered the Legislative Assembly following the sudden demise of his father,Vishwanath Katti.Umesh had represented the Hukkeri constituency for nine consecutive terms and never lost in a single election.

Umesh did not see back thanks to the blessings of the voters. He strove hard for the development of Hukkeri and managed any portfolio given to him.

The CM said Umesh Katti had a lot of concern for farmers and for that reason, he started a sugar factory because the sugar cane grown by the farmers of this region must not go out of the taluk.

As Food and Civil Supplies Minister, Umesh wanted the distribution of jawar in north Karnataka and millet in south Karnataka through PDS.

He got the order passed in this regard from the previous CM B.S.Yediyurappa.When I was Water Resources Minister, the Sangam Dam project was sanctioned, completed the modernization of Ghataparabha Canal up to 32 km.

Umesh got sanctioned for the Adavi Siddeshwara and Shankara Lift Irrigation Projects from me.Not as the CM but as the brother,I had promised him to sanction the works.

I have a relationship with the three generations of the Katti family. Now the legacy will be continued by Ramesh Katti and Nikhil Katti.

Bommai said there are two sugar mills in this region. The farmers of this region must develop. The one and only Electric Co-Operative Society in independent India must continue and that is possible with the victory of Nikhil Katti.

The overall development of this region is possible if both Nikhil and Ramesh Katti win in the coming Assembly polls.

He said what the Congress failed to do all these years has been achieved by the incumbent BJP Government. The quota for the Panchamasali community has been hiked.

The double-engine government has implemented several schemes for the welfare of farmers, working classes, students, working women, agricultural laborers, youths, and girl students by launching one or other programs.
