Ramamurthynagar Police take up suo motu case and arrested driver for dagger-wielding at scooter rider in broad daylight

The Ramamurthy Nagar police have taken up a suo-motu complaint against a goods vehicle driver for threatening a scooter rider with a dagger over an issue of road rage on Friday.

The accused has been identified as Arun Kumar, 23, a resident of Seegehalli.

Senior officer told reporters,The incident occurred near RM Nagar bridge when the scooter rider noticed the accused was driving in rash and negligent manner brushed his scooter .

The scooter rider stopped and shouted at him to behave properly.Heated argument ensued following which the driver came out armed with a dagger and threatened him with dire consequences in the middle of the road on broad day light .

The entire incident was captured on a mobile phone and uploaded on social media and went viral .

The DCP East division,Dr Bheemashankar S Guled asked the jurisdictional Ramamurthynagar police to take action,who managed to contact the scooter rider , but he refused to file a complaint.

The police on Saturday decided to register a Suo-motu case and were on lookout for the driver the Ramamurthynagar police with the help of KR Puram Traffic police traced the driver and arrested him and it was found that there are no criminal records against the driver and investigations are on to ascertain the reason behind the act.
