A 24-year-old software engineer was killed and her male friend injured when the scooter they were riding lost control and slipped on the NICE road on Sunday.

The deceased Sulochana was riding pillion and her friend Ananth Kumar were heading from Koramangala towards Mysore road .

Senior officer told reporters,Ananth Kumar was riding fast and the air in the rare wheel of the scooter reduced suddenly.

As a result Ananth Kumar lost balance and slipped from the scooter and sustained severe injuries .

Ananth was wearing a branded helmet while Sulochana was wearing a sub standard half helmet.Due to this she sustained fatal injuries.

Passers-by rushed the duo to a private hospital where Sulochana was succumbed on Monday morning, while Ananth Kumar also sustained multiple injuries and treated at the hospital .

The Kengeri traffic police have registered a case against Ananth Kumar charging him under rash and negligent driving and death due to negligence .

No matter how much experts and officers say that they should wear a proper ISI mark helmet while riding a bike, people don’t listen.

They pretend that the hairstyle will get damaged. As soon as they see the same traffic police, they put on their helmets and take them off again. But these helmets are life saving devices of the rider.

There are examples of so many lives being saved because of wearing a standard helmet. This is also true in yesterday’s accident.

Both a young man and a young woman were injured in an accident near the Hoskerehalli Nice Road toll on the evening of April 2 and were admitted to the hospital.

But today a young woman named Sulochana died and Anand escaped fearing for his life.
