Magistrate court directs police to file defamation criminal case against IPS officer D Roopa

The 24th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate on Friday directed the police to file defamation against , Indian Police Service,officer,D.Roopa Moudgil,for posting objectionable pictures and videos of Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Rohini Sindhuri and also for accusing her on unethical practices .

Based on the private complaint file by Ms.Sindhoori,the court took cognizance and registered a criminal case under section 500 (defamation) and directed to issue summons to Ms. Roopa .

In her statement before the court,Ms. Sindhoori submitted that she came across a post on social media on Feb 18,posted by Ms.Roopa making allegation that she went for an settlement with the MLA regarding official work.

This is to caste aspersion on her work accusing “cover up “or some indulge in corrupt practice .

Ms.Sindhoori also stated in her complaint that Roopa continue to attack her on social media with alleged posts on the facebook blaming Ms.Sindhoori, responsible for the death of 24 persons at Chamarajanagar during covid-19 crisis.

Ms.Roopa also accused her for the death of N Harish,a IPS officer,three months prior to the death of N Harish, an IPS officer.

Ms.Roopa in her post alleged that Harish a bachelor , IPS officer ended his life after endlessly waiting for Ms. Sindhoori.

The allegation against Ms.Sindhoori continued as Ms. Roopa questioned how Ms.Sindhoori got posting as a Deputy commissioner of Mysore though her predecessors.

She also accused Ms.Sindhoori of constructing a swimming pool during the covid period at DC quarters, Mysore which is a heritage building.

Ms.Sindhoori in her statement before the court that Ms. Roopa indulged in uploading some photos and projecting the same to be explicit photos with negative connotations and falsely alleging that they have been sent by Ms.Sindhoori to,three IAS officers and made a serious,uncharitable allegation against the complainant.

The officer has shared the said photograph of Whatsapp chat conversation claiming to be sent by the Ms.Sindhoori and the said messages have been shown as ‘deleted’ and alleged that the deleted messages are the nude pictures of the complainant with a clear intention to project the complainant in a bad light.

Ms.Roopa also alleged against Ms.Sindhoori for constructing a massive bungalow at Jalahalli but she has not reported the same periodically to the Government.

All the allegations made by the accused are totally false.Apart from postings the false allegation on the complainant,she has posted the same to media with an intention to malign the character and conduct of the complainant.

The accused has made a conversation with one RTI Activist Sri.Gangaraju and also made a false allegation on the complainant that she is like a cancer and entices everyone into her fold and the complainant is behind her husband for the past 8 years.

Ms.Roopa according to Ms.Sindhoori has used the said conversation which are derogatory in nature circulated the same in print and electronic media.

The accused has done all these things with an intention to defame the complainant and the comments and allegation in the facebook made in electronic and print media are defamatory in nature with an intention to tarnish the personal,professional and social image of the complainant and family members.
