The New FOB,Foot Over Bridge for the general public was inaugurated by BJP South MP, Tejasvi Surya at Krishnadevaraya Halt Station along with Shyam Singh Divisional Railway Manager and others were present.
Speaking on the occasion,MP, Tejasvi Surya said that The commissioning of this FOB was a part of development activities that took place in the area.
He also said that Bengaluru-Mysuru Passenger train which runs in the evening has to be provided with a Stoppage at Krishnadevaraya (H) as many women travel in this train from this area.
He wanted Mysuru-Talaguppa Express and Charajanagar-Tirupathy-Chamarajajagar passenger trains to be stopped at this Halt Station for the convenience of the public who commute frequently from Mysuru,Mandya,Nagamangala,Tirupathi and surrounding places.
Shyam Singh,Divisional Railway Manager Bengaluru Division welecomed the gathering.
Boranna,Chandrashekariah and Balaram who are local passengers cut the ribbon to mark the inauguration.
Krishnadevaraya (H) Railway Station is an important station in Bengaluru City having a foot fall of 170-200 passengers per day.
There was considerable increase in the passenger footfall at this Station due to rapid development of Bengaluru City.Hence the need for a Foot Over Bridge here was realized for safety of passengers and trains.
Salient features: –
Width of FOB: 3m.
Ramp gradient provided for ease in movement of elderly passengers and Divyang-jans: 1in 12.
For avoiding fatigue while ascending or descending ramp landing provided at an interval of 9 m.
Gang way width: 2m.
Length of ramp:81.5 m.
Ramps and stairs are provided on both the platforms for better access.
Additional works taken up in this Railway Station: –
Improved illumination at Station platform and FOB for ease of passengers.
End to end improvement in platform surfacing.
Increasing of platform width by 2m.
Removal of all redundant structures from safety point of view.
Construction of boundary wall along platform.
The project was sanctioned in the year 2018-19 and the work started in Spetember,2019.
Despite various challenges like Covid,national lockdowns,difficult work location and continuous passenger movement South Western Railway completed the work in March 2023 at an approximate cost of Rs.2.08 Crores.
