Woman posing as Army Officer arrested for cheating job aspirants and realtors promising them getting job

The Baiyappanahalli police have arrested a 42-year-old woman who posing as Army officer cheated job aspirants and realtors offering to get them job contracts in her department and escaped with money.

Based on the complaint from one of the victim N Mohan,a realtor,the police track down the accused and her male associate and arrested them on Monday.

Senior officer told reporters,the accused Darshana Bhardwaj,from Assam and her male associate Jyotirmayi has been arrested.

Darshana is the former wife of a military officer.One of her victims was N Mohan,a real-estate developer.He told the police that he got to know Darshana some months ago through a friend.

Darshana showed interest in buying a house that Mohan had constructed and introduced herself as a captain in MES (GE).

She told him that DRDO needed real-estate developers for the maintenance of buildings and promised to get him a contract worth several crores .

Since she is familiar with the army family,she had obtained a fake ID card and uniform and gained access into DRDO office hoodwinking the security and called Mohan to make him believe that she works there and discussed about the contract.

She later pocketed Rs.1.16 crore from him as part of the commission and later started demanding Rs.40 lakh luring him to issue the first instalment of contract amount.

On suspicion Mohan cross checked to find that she is impersonating as army officer.Based on the complaint the police track down the accused and arrested her.

The police are now checking her background to ascertain whether she had committed similar offences earlier.
