f Shiggaon has a large number of educated people it is mainly because of the Mamale Desai school,said Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.
Speaking at a function organized by Srimant Basavanta Bullappa Mamale Desai Composite PU College and Alumni Association and laying the foundation stone for the new building here on Sunday,he said the institution faced a lot of hurdles to reach the 75 years mark.
Before Independence,it had gone to the Gajanan Temple and Viraktha Mutt.
When school was started,not much importance was given to education due to which hardly a few students were studying.
At that time,Huralikoppa,Mamale Desai, Shankar Patil,and others started this institution despite difficulties.The students of this institution have made big achievements.
