Siddapura police arrested Nine Including Principal and students in connection with skit played making derogatory comments on Dr.BR.Ambedkar

The Siddapura Police on Monday arrested nine people including principal and seven students of the Jain University in connection with the skit played by a group of students on reservation making derogatory comments on Dr.BR Ambedkar and Dalit community during a college fest held at Nimhans Convention centre on February 8.

The accused have been charged under SC ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and Sections 153a,295a, and 149 of the Indian Penal Code.

The accused even uploaded a video clip on the social media led to outrage and protest.

Based on the complaint filed by social welfare department,the Siddapura police registered an FIR against the dean,principal Program coordinator,skit writer and students .

The management later suspended the students involved in the skit while the police summoned the students and others for questioning.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (Jayanagar sub division) conducted an inquiry and investigated the case found the involvement of the accused and arrested them.
