The state government has taken a decision to build 8000 classrooms and 4000 anganwadis,said Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.
Speaking after laying the foundation stone for the construction of Viveka school classrooms at Government Higher Primary School in Madihal Tanda in Kalburagi taluk here on Monday, he said 50 classrooms will be constructed in each of the 50 Assembly segments in Kalyana Karnataka in the current year.
For this region,1060 classrooms are approved of which the construction of 900 classrooms will start immediately.
No government in the past had planned to build 7600 classrooms in one year.This long vision program cannot be stopped by any government that will come to power in the State.We are confident of returning to power with the complete majority”.
The CM said a new 4000 Anganwadis will be constructed this year and a grant of Rs.15 lakh for each Anganwadi had been provided. Under this program,1500 Anganwadis will come up in this region.
Education is very important for the progress of any state and it can be but on the talent of children.Girl education has been given top priority as the girl students tend to stop going to school after completing the primary education.
Keeping this in view,the government has earmarked Rs.30000 crore for this purpose.The girls are given preference in all fields.
Bommai said Sarva Shikshan Abhiyan was launched by the Atal Behari Vajpayee government for a period of 10 years (till 2012) but no classroom was built till 2019.
The incumbent government understood the need for the sophisticated classrooms and reserved Rs. 200 crore towards repairs of the classrooms.

He opined that through talks it wasn’t possible to achieve indepoin education and employment and special programs must be chalked out with the aim, time-limit and release of funds in time.
The implementation of all programs announced in the budget and this is a record.Permission was granted to appoint 32000 guest lecturers during the beginning of the current year, and also hiked their monthly honorarium.
Our government has given importance for education and the yoga will be started in all schools from next year.We have sanctioned 100 new high schools and 100 PU colleges”.
