Jadavpur University got international recognition again

Abhijit Ray, Kolkata: Jadavpur University got international recognition again. Jadavpur is ranked as the only government-aided university among the 15 universities in the country in the QS World University Ranking published by Quacquarelli Symonds. Jadavpur ranked fourth in the list of best universities in the country last July. This time it got international recognition.Jadavpur has received this honor in recognition of its continuous contribution to environment protection and society building. The top 10 universities in the world in the QS World University Rankings are University of California, University of Toronto, University of British Columbia, University of Edinburgh, University of New South Wales, University of Sydney, University of Tokyo, University of Pennsylvania, Yale University and University of Auckland. Besides, 700 educational institutions from around the world have got a place in this list. A total of 15 educational institutions in India have appeared in this list. Among them, Jadavpur University is the only state aided university, which has been recognized in this category. This proud university of Calcutta has occupied the eighth place in the country. Also, among the 15 educational institutes from across the country that have made it to this ranking, IIT Bombay has topped the list.Jawaharlal Nehru University occupies the first position among Indian universities. The list includes names from Delhi University to Aligarh Muslim University to Banaras Hindu University.
