Women must lead self-reliant lives, says CM Bommai

W omen constitute nearly 50 per cent of the country’s population and they must lead a self-reliant life, said Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.

Speaking after inaugurating a newly-opened Skill Development Center established by NLC India Private Limited as part of CSR activities in Shiggaon on Thursday,he said tailoring training is given to women in Shiggaon and Dharwad thanks to the initiation of Union Minister Pralhad Joshi.

By January,nearly 5000 women will be trained and thereafter they will get employment too.But they must give education to their children.
Union Minister for Coal,Mining and Parliamentary Affairs Pralhad Joshi said tailoring will help women a lot as a readymade garment factory has been set up.

Training centers are opened in four places and it must be utilized by women.Tailoring machines worth Rs 66.33 lakh have been provided in the new center and 60 tailoring machines will be distributed to women free of cost.Gram Vikas Society President Jagadish Naik and others were present.

Later,the CM and union minister also opened the new building of Deputy Superintendent of Police and Circle Inspector at Shiggaon town being constructed at a cost of Rs 1.94 crore.

Director General of Police Dr Arun Chakravarthi,SP Hanumantharaya,Additional SP Vijaykumar Santosh and others were present.
