College drop out kills his own grandfather to death to get his share of property arrested by Yelahanka police

The Yelahanka police on Saturday arrested a 20-year-old college drop who along with his associates bludgeoned his 70-year-old grandfather to death to get his share of property.

The accused has been identified as Jayanth Balle,from Kuvempu Nagar Mysore and his associate Yaseen,22,from Gorur,Hassan.

Senior officer told reporters the accused wanted to start a business and need money for the investment.

He decided to apply for a business loan for needed collateral surety.He sought help from his grandfather C Puttaiah,to get a share of his ancestral property but in vain.

Later He decided to kill Puttaiah to get a share of his property so that he could apply for business loan.

As per the plan on Wednesday morning the accused gained entry into the house and bludgeoned Puttaiah C,to death and later removed the gold ring and ransacked the house to make it look like murder for gain.

The murder came to light when neighbours noticed Puttaiah was not responding since morning and informed Puttaiah’s son Naveen who was staying with his family in KS Layout.

Naveen rushed to the house and found him lying dead in bedroom and informed the police .

Based on the complaint,the police inspector,of Yelahanka V Balaji and his team began investigations and analyzed the CCTV footage and also with the help of technical details zeroed in on Jayanth on Saturday.

Puttaiah,a retired lab assistant from Kendriya Vidyalaya was living in the house at Surabhi layout alone after the death of his wife .

The deceased had four children who were staying separate and used to visit him once in a while.

A case of murder with other relevant sections has been registered against the accused and further investigation is on.

Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,C H Pratap Reddy has appreciated Addl CP East,A subramanyeshwara Rao,DCP Northeast,Dr Anoop A Shetty,ACP,Yelahanka Sub Division,Manjunath,PI,V Balaji and crime staff has been appreciated for detecting the murder case within 48 hours and arresting the accused a suitable reward will be given to whole team for their excellent work and investigation he added.
