The South Division police of Basavanagudi police on Monday arrested a 31-year-old house break thief and recovered valuables worth Rs.18 lakh from him and cracked the House break theft case within 2 hours.
The accused has been identified as,Mohammed Sadiq, native of Mangaluru.
Senior officer told reporters,a House break theft was reported in Basavanagudi police station limits and the robber made away with valuables entering the house through window.
As soon as the incident was reported Basavanagudi police Inspector Subramaniam Swamy and his team visited the spot and after inspecting the spot and collecting information the team verified the CCTV footage and found that the miscreant has entered the house by climbing a coconut tree and entered the house through window.
During investigation the team got the identity of the accused and it was found he is a habitual offender and the crime staff with technical inputs and with police investigation skilled zeroed in on the accused in two hours.
During investigation the accused has been identified as,Mohammed Sadiq,native of Mangaluru had come to city and working as cleaner at a hotel in city market.
The accused confessed the crime and said that he was into vices and started breaking into houses to lead a lavish life.
On May 27,the accused gained entry into a apartment at Tata silk farm by opening the lock from the window and made away with the gold and silver articles and two mobile phones .
The accused is a habitual offender arrested in similar offences and sent to judicial custody.The accused came out on bail and continue his activities is now cooling his heels in jail.
Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,C H Pratap Reddy has appreciated Addl CP West, Sandeep Patil,DCP,South,Harish Pandey ACP,KV Srinivas,PI,Subramanyaswamy ML,PSI, Hariprasad and crime staff as,Balaram Nayak, Srinivas,Shivalingappa,Srishaila,Naveen HD and Hanumesh Metti,and others has been appreciated for the meticulous investigation they done and nabbed the robber within 2 hours before flying to other states and a suitable reward will be given to whole team he added.
