An alert security personnel at the Central prison of Parappana Agrahara on Friday caught a under trail prisoner while trying to smuggle 22 grams of Marijuana in his private part.
The accused has been identified as Tippu Sultan
Senior officer said,the accused was caught during physical frisking and the security personnel found him behaving uneasy .
Upon a detailed verification they recovered 22 grams of Marijuana wrapped in a plastic cover , based on which the matter was reported to the jurisdictional parappana Agrahara police for further investigations.
According to the police,the accused was taken to the magistrate court for physical production escorted by City Armed Reserve Personnel and brought back on Friday evening .
The Prison officials have summoned the CAR personnel to ascertain how the accused was accessed to the drugs.
Based on the complaint by P Ranganath,Chief Superintendent,the police have registered a case against him under Prison Act and also under various sections of the NDPS act.
This is the second incident of drug smuggling being foiled by the security personnel earlier this week,security staff found drug packs of marijuana being thrown into the prison through high rise walls.
The officials rushed out to find two men and chase them.The duo managed to escape leaving behind a two wheeler .
