Traffic policemen on ground zero turning out to be a major embarassment for the government due to their rude behaviour with the journalists and motorists.

Despite clear rules from the senior officers that constables has no powers to seize vehicle or slap fines they argue with the motorists and misbehave with them threatening to seize vehicles alleging violations.

Mainly the traffic cops deployed in Bengaluru East and Vega City Mall junction are harassing motorists and journalist by threatening to seize the vehicle.

A city based Senior journalist confronted by a traffic policeman at Vega City mall junction in Bannerghatta and was stopped for having tinted glass sticker on his windshield of the car.

Despite repeated request to issue him notice the constable adamant and threaten to seize the car.

Unable to argue further the journo called the jurisdictional inspector explaining him the situation.

But despite inspector instructions the constable on duty refuse to budge and said he will seize the car.

After repeated request the constable let him go after he promised to remove the tinted glasses and pay the fine.

This is not the isolated case, the traffic policemen create embarassing situations due to their uncouth and rude behaviour and put the department and the government on the receiving end .

It may be recalled that traffic ASI caught kicking woman on the busy road during an argument led the government to face wrath from public.

The government taking severe objections scrapped the towing vehicle system and suspended the ASI.

Many constables face disciplinary action for their behaviour but they still not learnt their lessons and end up face off with public for wrong reasons.
