Workshop for BBMP Engineers regarding public grievance redressal

T he population is increasing day by day in the city and accordingly, the plans should be worked out to address the grievances”Chief Commissioner, Gaurav Gupta instructed the officials.

Addressing a workshop at Puttanna Chetty town hall,today,to discuss the public grievance redressal and other activities of BBMP, he said, There will be good opinion on BBMP when we solve the problems of citizens as soon as they raise complaint.

With this regard,the officials need to work actively,understanding and introspecting their responsibilities.

“It is our responsibility to make the city look clean and beautiful.For that,the BBMP is already being worked out with the sahaaya app to alleviate local problems.

In addition,’Fix My Street’ app,’Shilt and Tractor’ App are also being developed.Problems need to be solved at source itself he said.

“There are plenty of abandoned vehicles on the streets and on the roads in the city.BBMP Engineers and the police officers shall jointly launch a evacuation operation of abandoned vehicles.It will further enhance the beauty of the city he said.

Speaking on the occasion,Special Commissioner Mrs Tulsi Maddineni,said,The problems within the BBMP limits can be effectively addressed with the help of technology.

BBMP has efficiency to work.The technology should be adequately utilized.

For the public grievance redressal,Fix My Street App is being developed.So that issues can be fixed promptly.

Responding immediately to the problems prevailing in the streets of the city is the purpose of the app”she said.

Lecture on Motivation and Leadership:

While giving a lecture on Motivation and Leadership, to the BBMP Engineers,Colonel (Retired) Ravi Shirahatti said,Soldiers say ‘nation first’.

Likewise,Organization is first’this should be the feeling of everybody here.The work must be of selflessness.Need to work with unity,beyond the public’s expectation,for the brand,named- BBMP.”

Evacuation of abandoned vehicles in the city: City Police Commissioner, Kamal Pant

Speaking on the occasion,City Police Commissioner Kamal Pant said,there are plenty of abandoned vehicles on the roadside,sidewalk, and underpass across the city.

This will not only damage the city’s beauty but also cause traffic congestion.He said that the problem could be resolved if the Department of Policy and the BBMP worked in coordination.

The problem of abandoned vehicles in the city is numerous. However, there was a lack of space to evacuate such vehicles.

Now,BBMP has provided space for abandoned vehicles in Bingipuram.Abandoned vehicles will be cleared according to law after carrying out a joint survey by BBMP and Police department,and also after issuing notice to the owners of such vehicles.This will reduce the burden on the police department and will be a model for other cities.”

Fix my street’ app:

BBMP’s Fix My Street Mobile and Desktop App has been upgraded to allow people to complain about their street problems,including roadblocks, garbage,streetlights, and other issues.

After citizens log on to our fix my street app, the problems in their area,a complaint with a geo-location photo is sent to the mobile of the concerned authorities.

The concerned officer will then visit the site and examine the issue.Information is then sent to the complainant along with a photo of the problem being resolved.

The status of complaints made by citizens can be checked in the APP. Issues that can be resolved by the policy are settled within the stipulated time.

Complaints relating to Bescom,Water Board,and other departments will be forwarded to the respective departmental authorities.

BBMP’s Silt & Debris Removal Monitoring System (SDRM) App Development:

BBMP’s Silt & Debris Removal Monitoring System (SDRM) App has been developed to monitor the adequacy of Shilt and Tractors working in all 198 wards of the 8 sectors of the BBMP range.

Shilt and Tractors operating in all the wards of the BBMP will be monitored by the relevant authorities through this software.

Once the work crew and tractor drivers are present,all the crew’s photos,tractor photos,and debris/hoardings clearing photos must be included in the software.This can maintain transparency.

Monsoon Preparedness:

Special Commissioner (Project) Sri Ravindra said, the rains are expected to come before the monsoon due to erratic weather.

BBMP needs to be prepared before the rainy season gets started.The control rooms of the BBMP must function properly.

In addition,the respective zonal and divisional control rooms shall operate 24 hours a day. Adequate personnel should be deployed along with vehicles,machinery,and equipment to clear the fallen trees.

Identify the areas that are low-lying during the rainy season and take precautions to prevent any damage.Work in coordination with other departments.Dead branches of trees need to be cut before the rainy season.

OFC cable clearance:

OFC cables have been illegally installed on the city’s roadway, sidewalk,power pole,and trees.

This can lead to the death of pedestrians. Therefore, the Chief Commissioner was instructed to ensure adequate clearance of unauthorized OFC cables within the respective zone.

Special Commissioners Tulasi Maddineni, Ravindra,All the Zonal Chief Engineer,Executive Engineers,Assistant Executive Engineer, Assistant Engineers,and others were present at the workshop.
