Four member Robbery gang arrested by Sampigehalli police,stolen property Worth Rs.5 lakhs recovered

The Northeast Division police of Sampigehalli police on Saturday arrested a gang of four who had robbed car and valuables from a cab driver recently .

The accused Hrithik Gowda, 20, Nitin Gowda, 21, Sumanth EK, 20 and Darshan S, 20.

Senior officer told reporters,a Robbery complaint was registered by a cab driver who stated the accused booked a cab and asked the driver to come and pick them up from near a club situated in Shivaram Karath Nagar.

As soon as the driver reached the destination, the accused confronted him threatened him with knife and robbed his mobile phone wallet and gold chain.The accused dumped the driver and sped away in the cab.

Based on the complaint the Sampigehalli police inspector, Nataraj and his crime team visited the crime scene and verified CCTV footage to identify the accused and arrested them.

The team swung into action using local intelligence and with the help of CCTV footage they nabbed all the four and during investigation all the four confessed the crime and it was found that the the accused are habitual offenders involved in many criminal cases in and around the city .

Using similar modus operandi the accused had committed another robbery in the outskirt of the city .

Based on the confession the team recovered the robbed car,gold chain and mobile total worth Rs 5 lakh from them.

Finally Bengaluru Police commissioner,Kamal Pant has appreciated Addl CP East,A subramanyeshwara Rao,DCP Northeast,Dr Anoop A Shetty,ACP,Rangappa T,PI,Nataraj and his crime staff who has nabbed the four member armed robbery gang and for the exemplary work done by them a suitable reward will be given to the team he added.
