Miscreants pelt stones during Rama Navami Shobayatra in Kolar

Security stepped up in mulabagilu town and prohibitory orders imposed for three days after stone pelting incident occurred during rana navami procession on Friday evening.

Several shops damaged and a bike was set on fire in the incident. A police Vehicle was also damaged . Police resort to mild lathi charge to disperse the crowd and brought the situation under control, a senior police officer, said.

As procession reached the Jahangir circle at around 7.30 pm the Power went off and participant complaint

Senior police officials rushed to the spot to supervise the security measure.

The police are now began investigation to identify people involved in the incident. The police gathering details of the people involved the incident for further investigation.

Taking cognizance of the matter, Karnataka Home Minister today said that stones were pelted at Shri Ram Shobha Yatra in Mulabagilu town of Kolar district. He said that 4-5 people are being quizzed by police for alleged role.

Some miscreants reportedly threw stones at the procession,which led to escalation in commotion.Wind shields of two cars were damaged while a few bikes were set ablaze.

IGP Central Range,M Chandrashekhar,SP,D Devaraj with other Police reached the spot and brought the situation under control,Some people were injured in the incident. Prohibitory order under sec 144 has been imposed in the area.

Kolar SP Devaraj,briefing media said that some miscreants took advantage of power cut and hurled stones at the procession. Probe is on and soon culprits will be held, he said.
