An unidentified man robbed attacked a 70-year-old woman while she was alone at her house in MV Layout Manganahalli on Monday morning.
The victim,HN Shanthamma was living with her husband while her two children were married and staying separate.
On Monday Shanthamma was getting ready to visit her relative’s house warning ceremony when the accused who read the house for rent board outside the house came home to inquire .
Shanthamma took him to the first floor to show the house.
As soon as they entered the house, the accused pushed her on the ground locked the house from inside and gagged her mouth with a piece of cloth.
When Shanthamma tried to resist he assaulted her and took away gold valuables she was wearing and escaped after locking her from outside .
Shanthamma raised alarm and managed to get help from neighbours .
Based on the complaint the police have registered a case charging the accused under section 394 (Voluntarily causing hurt in committing robbery) 448 (house trespass) and 3482 (wrongful confinement ) and analyzing the CCTV footage from in and around the house to identify the accused and will be nabbed soon he added.
