The CCB officials of Organised crime wing has arrested most wanted Notorious Rowdy Sheeter Palani who was wanted in more than 20 cases has been nabbed after opening fire on his leg by CCB ACP,OCW,HS Parameshwar in self defence.
The accused has been identified as,Palani alias Kerchief Palani .
Senior officer told media persons,team led by Joint CP Crime,Sandeep Patil based on tip-off about the whereabouts of Palani the team started their operation from midnight only they were waiting for the accused.
Based on credible information that he was hiding in a graveyard in Ashok Nagar police station limits.A team of police led by ACP,OCW,HS Parameshwar and team went to secure him and surrounded the area.
CCB ACP,Parmeshwar and team tried to arrest him inside Cemetery at Ashoknagar PS limits at 11 pm. He resisted arrest,so ACP fired one bullet in air when he assaulted PI,Harish Kumar with a drager and injured him on his left elbow. When he still tried to attack,ACP fired at him. He fell down. His left leg is injured with a bullet. He is hospitalized at Bowring hospital.
The accused Palani, resident of LR Nagar, having over 20 criminal cases pending against him was on the run after killing a person in Bellandur police station limits recently .
Palani was also accused of assaulting traffic policemen in Subramanyapura and Audugodi police limits.
A case has been registered against the accused under attempt to murder in Ashoknagar police station limits and further investigation is on.
Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,Kamal Pant has appreciated Joint CP Crime,Sandeep Patil,DCP Crime-2, BS Angadi,ACP,HS Parameshwar,PI,Harish Kumar and others who has done a tremendous and exemplary work in nabbing the most wanted dreaded rowdy sheeter after risking their own life a special reward will be given to them for their brave and boldness he added.
