Conman held fake gold worth Rs.1.3 Crore recovered by SJ Park police

The SJ Park police on Friday caught a conman who sold three kgs of fake gold to a city based jeweller for Rs 1.3 crore .

The accused has been identified as Ilyas Khan a native of Ajmer.

Senior officer told media persons,Based on a complaint a special team was formed and after collecting information about the fake gold a special team swung into action and based on technical inputs the team zeroed in the accused in Ajmer a conman who duped a city based jeweller.

During investigation the accused said that they used to sell the gold bars to Rahul Kumar, jeweller from Nagrathpet many times .

Recently he offered to sell three gold bars weighing one kilo each to Rahul Kumar for Rs 1.3 crores .

Rahul Kumar sought sometime to arrange the money and later bought the gold later.The cheating came to light when Rahul sold one of the gold bars to his friend and upon checking he found that the bar was fake.

He immediately checked the other two bars and confirmed that he had been duped .

Based on the complaint the SJ Park police and team caught Ilyas Kan from Ajmer and efforts are on to track down his associates he added.
