A software developer of a leading fuel company has been booked for watching child pornography using the company laptop.
Senior officer told reporters,Based on the complaint filed by Praveen Kumar,Asset Protection manager of the (shell India Markets Private Limited)company on Thursday,the whitefield cyber crime police registered an FIR charging Subramanya Beladakre Ananth Ramu under various section of the IT act and also under section 67b (whoever facilitates abusing children online shall be punished)of the IT Act.
The accused hired as contract employee through a man power consultant firm.
The incident came to light when the company security unit came across the instance where laptop used by Subramanya was used to browse and watching child pornographic contents between May to September this year.
After confirming the incident,the officials filed a complaint with the control room who advised the officials to file a formal complaint with the jurisdictional cyber crime police.
The accused misused the company laptop to acess child pornographic contents and should be punished accordingly,Mr.Praveen said in his complaint he added.
