BBMP Chief Commissioner,Gaurav Gupta along with MLA Suresh Kumar,zonal joint commissioner Shivaswamy, Chief Engineer (Project) Lokesh, Zonal Chief Engineer Vishwanath and others inspected the various development works in Rajajinagar constituency.
“Inspection of West of Chord road grade separator construction work :
The 655-metre-long grade separator flyover work at Shivanagara 1st main road and 8th main road in Shivanagar of West of Chord, Rajajinagar has been completed and is ready to be inaugurated.
The flyover at West of Chord Road,Manjunath Nagar,underpass at Shivanagar junction and flyover at Basaveshwar Circle were planned to be constructed in 2016.
While Manjunath Nagar flyover work has been completed and opened to vehicular movement, the project at Shivanagar junction was changed from underpass to flyover and is in progress.
Accordingly, the grade separator flyover at Shivanagar 1st main road and 8th main road in Shivanagar is being built at Rs 71.98 crore.
The flyover will have 7.5 m long two-way 4 lanes. The flyover has been asphalted, the ramp area is yet to be asphalted.
Along with this,beautification works such as street lamps,planting saplings at the median and under the flyover is pending.The Chief Commissioner instructed the officials to complete the work immediately.
The flyover work at Basaveshwar Junction and 72nd cross Rajajinagar is in progress.The officials have been instructed to complete the construction work swiftly and open for traffic.
“Inspection of the playground near Rajajinagar Parents School :
The playground near Rajajinagar Parents School is being developed at Rs 2 crores.Most of the work including the retaining wall around the ground has been completed.
The officials were instructed by the Chief Commissioner to complete the work.On the occasion, the local MLA Suresh Kumar requested the Chief Commissioner to grant an additional fund of Rs 2.5 crore required for the completion of other development works around the playground.
“Road inspection from Havanur Circle to Shankar Math circle:
The Chief Commissioner instructed the officials to asphalt the road from Havanur Circle to Shankar Math circle,which is in bad condition.
MLA Suresh Kumar asked the officials to take appropriate action and make it easier for large vehicles to take turn around Shankar Math circle, towards Basaveshwaranagar.
“Rajajinagar 19th main road multipurpose building inspection:
The construction work at the multipurpose building at Rajajinagar 9th main road is in progress and 40% of work is complete so far.The work had been halted due to a lack of grants.
As Rs.3.50 crore has been provided for the work from the legislator’s fund.The chief commissioner instructed to complete the work following the completion of the tender process.
60 per cent of multipurpose building construction work at Dayanandanagar ward has been completed.The work had been halted due to a lack of grants.
Rs.3 crore has been provided from the legislator’s fund to complete the pending work and tender has been invited for the construction work. The chief commissioner instructed the officials to complete the work following the completion of the tender process.
The dilapidated school building next to the multipurpose building will be demolished and a building to complement skill development will be constructed.This will benefit the children residing at the slum areas nearby.
MLA Suresh Kumar,said that Rs 5 crore has been released for the same under the Navanagarothana grant and the tender process for the construction work is in progress.
The work will begin soon,he said.The chief commissioner instructed the zonal joint commissioner to identify dilapidated buildings in the west zone and submit a report.
