First time in the history the ACB officials on Tuesday trapped a towing vehicle staff of Jayanagar traffic station while accepting a bribe of Rs.800 from the owner of the scooter for an official as bribe to release his vehicle.

The trapped towing staff has been identified as, Siddhe Gowda HN.

Senior ACB official said,we received a complaint from a resident of Malleshwaram stating,he had gone to JP Nagar Shanti Sagar hotel and parked his scooter outside in a no parking zone on Saturday.

When he came out from hotel he noticed that his vehicle was not there so he asked the people present over there they said the vehicle was towed away by traffic police for parking in no parking zone.

Later he went to Jayanagar Traffic police station to get his vehicle. The towing staff identified as Siddegowda, demanded Rs.800 as bribe to release the vehicle without actual fine amount of Rs 1150.

Based on complaint today the ACB officials laid a trap and trapped Siddegowda red-handed while accepting bribe.

The officials are investigating further to ascertain possible involvement of station staff members in the bribe case and further investigation is on.

A caution to public and motorists do not encourage the towing staff by paying bribe as to get your vehicle released paying 300-800 rupees as giving and accepting bribe is crime as per law so stop giving bribe as if the public pay actual violation amount the same will go to the government and it can curb the menace of towing mafia.

We appeal all the citizens to demand receipt of the fine from the officers said a senior police officer.
