RR Nagar police arrested five engineering students for vandalising multiple cars in RR Nagar and Kengeri.

The West Division police of Rajarajeshwarinagar police arrested a group of five engineering students studying in a Reputed engineering college who vandalized cars parked on roadside.

The accused were celebrating birthday and after the celebration they smashed windows of the multiple cars with cricket bats for fun.police suspect they were under the influence of alcohol and investigation are on.

Senior officer told media persons,RR Nagar police inspector,Shivanna and his crime staff after examining the CCTV footage at the crime scene identified the vandalisers and based on technical inputs the team traced all the five and arrested.

During investigation it was found that all the Five are engineering students from a reputed college in the city,went on a spree,vandalising 14 cars using a cricket bat in RR Nagar and Kengeri while returning from a party on Friday night.

The five accused who are studying in seventh semester of computer science in a private well known engineering college have been arrested and the police have seized two bikes and a cricket bat from them.

Police said that the accused had gone to a birthday party in an apartment in Kengeri and after finishing the party, they went to a 24/7 petrol pump to purchase cold drinks.

Preliminary report says they were drunk and went on a spree vandalising all the cars and breaking windshields in the border of RR Nagar and Kengeri on their two wheelers with one of them triple riding.

A total of 14 cars were damaged out of which six cars were in RR Nagar and eight cars in Kengeri. After examining the CCTV footage, the police traced the accused and arrested them on Sunday.Further investigation is underway.
