Depressed PhD student dies by suicide at IISc campus in Bengaluru; second case reported in less than week

Close to the heel of a PhD students ended life at IISC hostel,another incident of suicide has been reported with a 21-year-old research student ended life at the hostel in IISc campus on Tuesday night.

This is the second incident in a week which shocked the students and faculties and staff of IISC campus .

The deceased has been identified as Rishab Raj Mishra,native of Rajasthan studying in B.S research .

The incident came to light when worried parents called the neighbouring room asking to check on Rishab,since he was not responding to their calls .

Upon checking the student and security personnel found Rishab was hanging to the ceiling and was rushed to the hospital before alerting the police,where doctors declared him as brought dead.

The police found two suicide note at the spot which he had written to his friends and one to his parents.

The suicide note says Rishab was upset that his parents could not understand him .

Inquiries revealed that Rishab was under depression and getting treated.His parents had moved to the city two months ago to take care of his treatment .

The Sadashiva Nagar police have taken up a case of unnatural death and are investigating to ascertain the exact reason behind his extreme step .
