A day after the arrest of seven accused involved in gruesome murder of a financier near Banashankari metro station last Friday,the Jayanagar police opened fire at two of the accused who tried to escape after attacking the police during spot Mazhar and recovering weapon used in crime in Turahalli forest area on Tuesday.
Among the seven accused,Mahesh (28) and Naveen (23) were escorted to turahalli forest area in Talaghattapura area to recover the murder weapons.
The two injured accused are Mahesh and Naveen who tried to escape after attacking the PSI,Chandan Kale and ASI,Laxmanachar to evade arrest
The accused hacked Madan N,44, to death in broad daylight and their entire act was recorded in one of the CCTV which eventually led to their arrest.
Senior officer told reporters,Earlier the accused dressed as advocates tried to surrender before the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court on Monday,but their request was turned down due to technical issues.
Meanwhile the police who were tracking their movements till the court hall premises took them into custody soon after the accused came out of the court premises.
On reaching the spot,the accused attacked PSI, Chandan Kale and ASI, Laxmanachar both attached to Jayanagar police station in a bid to escape.
ACP of Jayanagar Sub-Division,Srinivas and Jayanagar Police Inspector,Sudarshan warned the duo to surrender and later opened fire .
Naveen sustained injuries on his right leg while Mahesh on his left leg.Both were rushed to a hospital,and are out of danger he added.
DCP South,Harish Pandey told media persons, The two accused mahesh and Naveen were taken for mahazar for recovery of murder weapons near nagagowdanapalya in Uttarahalli hobli.
There the accused attacked PSI,Chandan Kale and ASI Laxmanachar and pushing them tried to escape.
Despite warning shots,they continued to escape. PI,sudarshan and Acp Jayanagar, Srinivas then had to fire aiming at their legs.
Naveen got injuries on right leg and mahesh on left leg. Both were bound down and were sent to hospital by ambulance during which time they were given first aid.Both are out of danger
Meanwhile,the police have continued the questioning of five to ascertain the details about the murder case.
Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,Kamal Pant,Addl CP East,S Murugan has appreciated DCP South,Harish Pandey,ACP,Jayanagar Sub-Division,Srinivas,PI,Sudarshan,PSI,Chandan Kale,ASI,Laxmanachar and other staff who has risked their life in nabbing the notorious dreaded accused for the exemplary and commendable job done by the brave police officers team will be given suitable reward for cracking the Murder case he added.
