Duo held,Stolen property Worth Rs.10 Lakhs Recovered intact by Vidyaranyapura police

The Northeast Division police of Vidyaranyapura police on Thursday arrested two persons for robbing a home alone woman a few days ago.

One of the accused is the tenant who roped in his elder brother to rob his home alone to clear his debts .

The arrested are identified as Aravind,30,a resident of Basavasamithi in Vidyaranyapura,and his brother,Avinash,34,of BP Wadia road in Basavanagudi.

Senior officer told reporters,The victim Jayashree,48,a homemaker is wife of Subhash Chandra Bose,a private firm employee.They own a two-storied building.

They have rented the ground floor to Aravind  who runs a garment store living with his wife in the rented house.

On June 26,around 8.45 am,when Subhash left to work,Jayashree was alone and she was busy with the daily chores in the kitchen.

The accused wearing a mask gained entry into the house  gaged her and threatened to kill if she made any noise.

They also tied her hands and legs with gum tape before robbing her gold mangalya chain,ear ring.

The accused also went into the bedroom, ransacked the wardrobes to rob two chains,a pair of gold bangles,four rings,three kg silver articles and Rs 2 lakh in cash and fled the scene.The total worth of the property was later estimated to be around Rs.10 lakh.

When Jayashree managed to untie herself and later with the help of her neighbours informed the police.Aravind who had also arrived acted innocent,sympathised with her and extended  required help.

Based on complaint vidyaranyapura police inspector,Anil Kumar and his crime team swung into action and visited the crime scene to inspect the spot and after inspecting the spot.

Vidyaranyapura Police initially suspected labourers working in an under construction building nearby.

But,on verifying the CCTV footage in the surrounding buildings at the time of incident the police got a strong suspect on Aravind as they noticed both Aravind and Avinash in a hurry to go somewhere.

Based on which vidyaranyapura police inspector and his team detained them for questioning and during interrogating Aravind,police learned that Avinash had robbed her and when the cops grilled the accused he spilled the beans.

He spilled the beans when the investigation was done in police style it was revealed that Aravind had given all the robbed property to Avinash and kept them in a friend’s house in Basavanagudi.

The valuables are recovered intact.Aravind told police that he sustained loss in the business and also had a loan of Rs.15 lakh, he wanted to sell the gold and clear his debt but our team who has swung into action and solved the case within 60 hours of the crime took place.

Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,Kamal Pant has appreciated Addl CP East,S Murugan, DCP Northeast,CK Baba,ACP,Jayaram,PI,Anil Kumar and his whole team for the commendable job done by them with a good piece of investigation the team has successfully nabbed duo within 60 hours and recovered stolen property intact from them and a suitable reward will be given to the team he added.
